It’s been an over a year since my last journal update and I have been busy.  

I have added an ID, travelled around the world and attended my first art exhibition, increased my training in martial arts and painted where I could.  I have even spent some time pencil drawing it improve my artistic eye but none of them are good enough to post yet . I am also starting to amass a large number of unfinished paintings which is not like me; I usually finish what I start. So little time and so much to do.

I would like to thank all the people who have commented, faved and featured my work. Thanks everyone.

5,000 hits! Thank you everyone who has made a contribution, comment, fav or is watching.

As an amateur traditional artist it’s hard to get the momentum given the time it takes to complete artwork when you compare it to the quantity of work that a photographer or even a digital artist can produce. Given that I think 5,000 hits is quite an achievement.

One of my goals over the next year is to increase my output and quality of my work. As I have been teaching myself to oil paint over the last 4 years I have noticed that what once took me weeks to get right I can now do much more quickly, benefit of practice I guess. This also allows me to work on larger canvas as well. One very small downside is I am rapidly running out of wall space and room for my artworks. I am too attached to them to sell but I suppose that will change with time. I donated one of my early watercolour paintings to a charity auction, which was hard enough.
